What is Laparoscopic Anterior Resection?

Minimally invasive rectal cancer surgery using laparoscopic technique with complete mesorectal excision. Three to four small incisions instead of large abdominal incision. Equivalent oncological outcomes to open surgery with faster recovery and reduced pain.

Surgical Technique

Three to four 10-15mm ports for trocars and camera. Complete mobilization of rectum under laparoscopic visualization. Division of blood vessels and bowel. Specimen extraction through enlarged port. Anastomosis with stapler. Sphincter preservation maintained.
