What is Chronic Pancreatitis?

Chronic pancreatitis is progressive inflammation of the pancreas leading to permanent parenchymal damage, fibrosis, and loss of endocrine/exocrine function. Causes chronic pain, maldigestion, and diabetes. Main causes: alcohol, idiopathic, hereditary, autoimmune.

Distal Pancreatectomy
